Minutes for March 25 Meeting
Here are the election results and meeting minutes from our previous meeting on March 25.

~Monday April 6, from 5:30-8 PM Fredericksburg Area Museum is holding a Community Volunteers Fair at the museum
~Come talk with people from various groups in the Fredericksburg area that need volunteers. Great opportunity for networking!
~April 16-19 is Spring Event!
~April 16 is the kick off day, and we’ll be having a coffee night at Hyperion. ~Meet at the back of Combs at 7 PM to walk or drive down there.
~April 17 is the dessert social, from 7-9 PM in Combs, and possibly a trip to Slaughter Pen battlefield before the dessert social.
~April 18 is the Culpepper Trip; we’ll leave in the morning, and bring a lunch with you.
~April 19 is the Scavenger Hunt, which will begin around noon or 1 PM.

~Tuesday April 21, Evening with an Expert Talk at the Fredericksburg Area Museum, from 7-9 PM.
~Historic Preservation Club T-Shirts
~This year’s t-shirts will be “You Know You’re a Historic Preservation Major When…” theme, with the list on the back of the shirt. For example, “you have more pictures of architecture than of your friends.”
~The shirts will be light blue with black lettering, and they are $5 each, and you must include an order form (available in the Historic Pres department) with the money (cash or check). Money and form are due by April 6, and can be put in the Historic Pres Club box in the department or in Amy’s mailbox, #1216.
~The next meeting is April 15 at 8 PM, room TBA
~This meeting will be run by next year’s officers
Minutes for March 12 Meeting
♣The DC day trip to the Smithsonian will be tomorrow, March 14.
♣Coming up in March and April are the Fredericksburg Area Museum’s Evening with an Expert talks, held at the Fredericksburg Area Museum’s Town Hall/Market House.
♣ Tuesday March 24 from 7-8 PM, Kerri Barile (who is currently teaching Historic Pres 308, Cultural Resource Management), will give a talk, “What and Why Do We Preserve?”
♣ Tuesday April 21 from 7-8 PM, Sean Maroney, from Historic Fredericksburg Foundation Inc. will give a talk, “Changing Streetscapes”.
♣Both talks are free and are followed by a reception.
♣We discussed what club members did over Spring Break, and we heard from the students who went on the New Orleans trip to help repair houses, and students who went to Paris, and Pittsburgh.
♣Spring Event is scheduled for April 16, 17, 18, and 19, with the kick-off night on April 16 as a coffee night at Hyperion Coffee- more details to follow!
♣We are also working on t-shirts for Historic Preservation Club. One idea is “You Know You’re a Preservation Major When…”, and then there will be a list of about 8 items that define you as a Historic Preservation major. If you have any ideas for the list, or a completely new idea, send them to Amy at abenj9nd@umw.edu, by March 20.
♣Our next meeting will be on Wednesday March 25, room TBA.
♣At the next meeting will be holding elections for next year’s officers. If you want to nominate yourself or someone else for a club officer, please respond to this email.
♣Positions for next year are: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, Historian, Publicity, Victorian Ball (2 people), Spring Event (2 people), Ghostwalk chairs (2 people). Details on what these positions entail will follow.
